29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2):Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. A.) On May 17, 2022, the employer did not conduct an adequate job site inspection by a competent person to ensure the demolition project that the employees were working on was free from recognized hazards such as falling debris from demolition work.

29 CFR 1926.850(a):Prior to permitting employees to start demolition operations, an engineering survey shall be made, by a competent person, of the structure to determine the condition of the framing, floors, and walls, and possibility of unplanned collapse of any portion of the structure. Any adjacent structure where employees may be exposed shall also be similarly checked. The employer shall have in writing evidence that such a survey has been performed. A.) On May 17, 2022, an engineering survey of the demolition work had not been made which resulted in employees being exposed to struck by and crushing hazards while demolishing an interior CMU wall and plaster drop ceiling.
