29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment. Mechanical Pool Room: Employees conducted equipment and swimming pool monitoring where hazardous chemicals were handled. A self-contained eye wash station had damaged labels on 2 saline bottles. Labels were illegible with the expiration dates undetermined. The employer had not replaced bottles or installed a new self-contained eye wash station. Employees were potentially exposed to eye burns or blindness.
