29 CFR  1910.243(c)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) were used on portable grinder(s) which were not provided with safety guard(s) meeting the requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1) through (c)(4):  (a) Flagler Cooperative Association in Arriba, CO: On or before 7/11/22 the employer did not ensure that portable grinders were equipped with a guard when a hard wheel or cutting wheel was installed. A cutting wheel was installed on a Dewalt handheld grinder and the guard was no attached to the tool. This condition exposed employees to flying chips and sparks as well as broken abrasive wheel  pieces.   Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed "Certification of Corrective Actions Worksheet."
