29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) were used on portable grinder(s) which were not provided with safety guard(s) meeting the requirements specified in 29 CFR 1910.243(c)(1) through (c)(4): (a) Flagler Cooperative Association in Arriba, CO: On or before 7/11/22 the employer did not ensure that portable grinders were equipped with a guard when a hard wheel or cutting wheel was installed. A cutting wheel was installed on a Dewalt handheld grinder and the guard was no attached to the tool. This condition exposed employees to flying chips and sparks as well as broken abrasive wheel pieces. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed "Certification of Corrective Actions Worksheet."

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) Flagler Cooperative Association in Arriba, CO: On or before 7/11/22 the employer did not ensure that the maintenance shed was equipped with enough outlets to power their equipment. Flexible cords were used in lieu of permanent wiring. This condition exposed employees to electric shock and fire hazards. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed "Certification of Corrective Actions Worksheet."
