29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) Gerber Collision (Colorado) Inc. DBA Gerber Collision & Glass at 6750 S. Dawson Circle Englewood, CO 80112: On or before 10/18/22 the employer did not ensure that electrical supply equipment such as power strips, outlet boxes, and extension cords were used in the manner in which they were designed and rated to. An outlet box delivering power to a power strip was supplied with power by a spliced extension cord, plugged into a 20 amp outlet. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. 29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: (a) Gerber Collision (Colorado) Inc. DBA Gerber Collision & Glass at 6750 S. Dawson Circle Englewood, CO 80112: On or before 10/18/22 the employer did not ensure that flexible cords and cables were not used in lieu of permanent wiring. Extension cords were strung around the shop to deliver power. An extension cord was used to wire an outlet box. These conditions exposed employees to electric shock and fire hazards. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed "Certification of Corrective Actions Worksheet."
