29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by: In the maintenance shop, drill presses were not provided with point of operation guarding, exposing employees to a caught in and struck by hazard in the following instances: 1) The Powermatic Drill Press, used to drill small parts was not equipped with a point of operation guard around the rotating spindle to protect employees from the hazards of the rotating spindle and the flying chips. 2) The Jet Turret Milling Press Machine used to drill small parts was not equipped with a point of operation guard around the rotating spindle to protect employees from the hazards of the rotating spindle and the flying chips.
