One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  a) On or about November 4, 2022, with regard to an establishment located at 555 N Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton, WI 54914, employees were exposed to potential caught-in and struck-by hazards while sorting product on the Line #6 wire transfer conveyor when spliced sections of the conveyor belt allowed fingers to become caught between the belt and wicking boards. b)  On or about November 16, 2022, with regard to an establishment located at 555 N Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton, WI 54914, employees were exposed to potential entanglement hazards when the auger for the First Breader on Line #8 was not guarded so as to prevent access to the rotating blades of the auger. c)  On or about November 16, 2022, with regard to an establishment located at 555 N Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton, WI 54914, employees were exposed to potential caught-in hazard when a pinch point on the pick plates of the Wexxar Case Erector was not guarded to prevent exposure to the hazard area.  d)  On or about November 16, 2022, with regard to an establishment located at 555 N Hickory Farm Lane, Appleton, WI 54914, employees were exposed to potential caught-in hazards when the in-running nip point on the infeed and outfeed side of the Blueprint Box sealer on Packaging Line #2 were not guarded to prevent exposure to the hazard areas.
