29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i):The employer did not select and have each affected employee use, the types of personal protective equipment that would protect the affected employee(s) from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment: A) On or about April 12, 2023, the employer failed to select, and have each affected employee use, the types of PPE that will protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment. The employer did not require PPE to be used to purge the Davron machine during a misfeed, in order to ensure that employees were adequately protected from thermal burn injuries. Failure to select and assign employees to use PPE exposed employees to thermal burn injuries associated with operating the Davron machine.
