Maple Ave. Merchantville, NJ:  An employee was observed working in an approximate 5.9 foot deep trench with only two protected sides. The rear of the trench were the employee was working showed signs of erosion and possible collapse. Trench had standing water amplifying the erosion process. Observed on or about 04/20/2023  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
