29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment. Butcher shop: On and/or before April 20, 2023, employees used corrosive cleaners such as Jaws Food Service Sanitizer to clean the Hobart meat slicer and other butcher shop equipment. The employer had not placed an eye wash station in the facility. The employee was potentially exposed to severe eye burns or blindness.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employers did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use: Butcher Shop: On and/or before April 20, 2023, employees used Jaws Food Service Sanitizer to clean the Hobart Meat Slicer and other equipment in the butcher shop. The employer had not retained safety data sheets for each chemical used in the market which potentially exposed employees to eye and dermal hazards. The Indian Trading Post, dba La Chicanita Market, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1)) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1496460, citation number 2b, item number b and was affirmed as a final order on 06.17.2021, with respect to a workplace located at 88740 70th Avenue, Thermal, CA 92274.
