29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(i): Conductors entering cutout boxes, cabinets, or fittings were not protected from abrasions: 57 Wire Village Rd, Spencer, MA: On or about April 26, 2023, employees were exposed to electrical hazards posed by electrical wires entering a double throw safety switch and multiple ceiling mounted light fixtures that did not have the proper connector to protect conductors from damage to insulation or wire. New England Metal Services Co Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.305(b)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1560363, citation number 1, item 4b, and was affirmed as a final order on April 5, 2022.

The employer did not ensure that electrical components such as ceiling lights, portable work lights, and 3-phase electrical outlet boxes in the grinding and polishing garage were dust ignition proof, and approved for the hazardous Class II Explosive location.
