29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. 163 Maple Grove Drive, Pittsfield, MA: On or about May 25, 2023, four subcontractor employees were observed working on a residential roof engaged in roofing activities with unprotected sides and edges greater than 8 feet to the next lower and were not protected by either guard rails, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems. J Smegal Contracting, LLC did not ensure that their subcontractors were protected from fall hazards by conducting frequent and regular inspections to identify and correct fall hazards during roofing activities. J Smegal Contracting, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1642921, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04/27/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 188 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA.
