29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: 125 Flanders Rd #2, Westborough MA: On or about 10/31/23, employees cleaning the nylon line were exposed to up to 10 ppm formic acid as an 8-hourr time-weighted average (TWA), which is 2.0 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of 5 ppm. The employees were required to wear GVS half-face elastomeric respirators in certain areas such as, but not limited to, the upper level of the nylon line, and they wore the respirators over full beards.
