29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11):"Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toe boards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about 07/20/2023, at a residential home located at 6035 Hollow Crescent Lane in Orchard Park NY, the employer did not enforce the use of fall protection. Employees were exposed to a fall hazard when working approximately 26 feet above lower levels with a roof pitch of 5-12 without the use of fall protection. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
