Workers or other persons adjacent to the welding areas shall be protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields or shall be required to wear appropriate goggles.  a) On or about August 9, 2023, at the establishment located at 209 North 4th Avenue, St. Nazianz, Wisconsin; in the Fab Shop, the employer did not ensure that welding work performed was enclosed by an individual booth, noncombustible or flameproof screens, or requiring the use of appropriate goggles to protect employees working in the adjacent area from ultraviolet radiation generated by welding, exposing employees to the hazards associated with ultraviolet radiation.

All provisions of 29 CFR 1910.1200(e) through (h) must be contained in a written hazard communication program. Key elements include but are not limited to the following: 1) List of all hazardous chemicals 2) Container labeling 3) Employee information and training  R Braun Inc. was previously cited for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1436689, citation number 2, item number 5f, and was affirmed as a final order on February 11, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 209 North 4th Avenue, Saint Nazianz, WI 54232.
