29 CFR  1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4: The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment.   Carpet Cleaning:  On and/or before August 29, 2023, employees used corrosive chemicals during cleaning operations where an emergency eye wash station required accessing multiple closed doors including badge-controlled spaces. The employer had not provided a station free of blockage which potentially exposed employees to retinal and corneal burns.
