29 CFR  1926.152(a)(1):Containers other than approved metal safety cans or DOT approved containers were used for the handling and use of flammable liquids in quantities of 5 gallons or less:  On 10/25/2023, Interior and Exterior Construction, Inc. was installing shingles on a residential building located at 260 High Park, Wentzville, Missouri. The employer did not ensure gasoline, used in the gas powered air compressor, was transported in an approved metal safety can or DOT approved container to ensure employees were not exposed to chemical hazards and fire hazards during construction operations.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  On 10/25/2023, Interior and Exterior Construction, Inc. was installing shingles on a residential building located at 260 High Park, Wentzville, Missouri. The employer did not ensure portable ladders were constructed and placed so three (3) feet or more.  Workers performing residential construction were exposed to falling approximately ten (10) feet while using a straight ladder to ascend/descend from the ground level to the roof.

29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids, or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.  On 10/25/2023, Interior and Exterior Construction, Inc. was installing shingles on a residential building located at 260 High Park, Wentzville, Missouri. Pneumatic nail guns were being used without the use of eye protection, exposing workers to struck-by hazards.  Interior and Exterior Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1595572, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/26/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 12400 Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The roof measured approximately 10 feet high with a pitch of 6:12. Guardrail systems, a safety net system, or a personal fall arrest system were not implemented to eliminate fall hazards.  Interior and Exterior Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1595572, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/26/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 12400 Veterans Memorial Parkway.
