29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by screens or shields made of noncombustible or flameproof materials and low reflectivity finish and the screens or shields did not permit circulation of air at the floor level. On or about October 19, 2023 and at times prior thereto, the welding partitions did not meet the requirements. The screens were made of plywood with no low reflectivity finish, the screens had holes, and the screens did not permit circulation of air at the floor level. This exposed the employees to fire and radiant energy hazards.
