29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest system, nor were an employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):   On or about 12/15/2023, the employer did not protect employees who were engaged in residential roofing operations 6ft (1.8m) or more above lower levels while at the job site located at 434 Valley Oaks Drive in, Wentzville, MO. The employees were conducting residential roofing operations and were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately ten (10) feet.  J & J Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1595841, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 9/23/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 8 South Cote Road in Brentwood, MO.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:  On or about 12/15/2023, the employer did not ensure portable ladders were constructed and placed so three (3) feet or more were extended above the upper landing at the job site located at 434 Valley Oaks Drive in Wentzville, MO. Workers performing residential construction were exposed to falling approximately ten (10) feet while using a straight ladder to ascend/descend from the ground level to the roof.
