Morral Companies, LLC on or about January 18, 2024, at the location of 132 Postle Avenue Morral, OH 43337: The employer did not conduct adequate periodic inspections of the energy control procedures at least annually to ensure that the procedure is implemented properly and adequate to provide effective protection to the authorized employee during servicing and maintenance operations. Due to this condition, employees who service and maintain the travel path of the "East Robot" were exposed to caught in and stuck by hazards.

Morral Companies, LLC on or about January 18, 2024, at the location of 132 Postle Avenue Morral, OH 43337: The employer did not ensure that employees who service and maintain the "East Robot" were adequately trained in the skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of energy controls. Due to this condition employees task with correcting missed labels or clearing broken bags of fertilizer did so without the benefit of fully controlling all potentially hazardous energy exposing them to struck by and caught in hazards.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts. a). On or about January 18, 2024, the employer did not ensure the nip point created between the chain conveyor and roller of the East Robot was adequately guarded. Employees performing in-operation manual application of labels in the East Robot path of travel were exposed unguarded nip point were exposed to a caught in hazard.
