29 CFR  1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers or other persons adjacent to the welding/plasma cutting areas were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields or required to wear appropriate goggles.  a) 360 Lambs Rd, Sewell, NJ - Production Floor - Employees were permitted to work near and around plasma cutting operations, Messer Plasma Cutter, Model-MMPLUS8, without being protected from arc welding rays, thus exposing the workers eyes to the harmful radiant energy produced by the cutting process. This condition was observed on or about February 5, 2024.  East Coast Steel, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1351997, citation number 02, item number 004 and was affirmed as a final order on April 22, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 360 Lambs Rd, Sewell, NJ.  NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
