29 CFR 1910.133(a)(3): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee who wears prescription lenses while engaged in operations that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that incorporates the prescription in its design, or wears eye protection that can be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the protective lenses. On or about February 27, 2024, an employee was instructed to pull a sample of fluid from the degreaser using a long clear tube. The employee was wearing prescription glasses and when they pulled the tube out of the degreaser, their eye was splashed with n-Propyl Bromide. The employee was not equipped with the appropriate eye protection, exposing them to chemical hazards. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
