29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, a personal fall arrest system, or an alternative fall protection measure as provided by another provision in paragraph (b) of this section: a. Employees performing roofing are not protected from fall hazards by the use of a fall protection system. Turnkey Roofing of Florida fails to assure effective protection against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated at 365 University Boulevard North, Jacksonville Florida, on or about March 07, 2024, when the employer exposed 3 roofing employees to an 8.5-foot fall hazard while removing old roofing system materials, in that the employees were not protected by a fall protection system while performing residential re-roofing. The Turnkey Roofing of Florida, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1654844, citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on 4/25/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 6646 Heidi Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32277.
