29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift:Note:  As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system.  The use of a body belt in a tethering system or in a restraint system is acceptable and is regulated 1926.502(e).   On or about March 7, 2024, employees were performing framing operations outside a commercial property using a Genie S-60 XC  #SLWI-5962 aerial lift and were exposed to fall hazards of 30 feet when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.454(a)(1): The employer shall  have each employee who performs work while on a scaffold trained regarding the nature of any electrical hazards, fall hazards and falling object hazards in the work area.  On or about March 7, 2024, the employer did not ensure that employees were trained to recognize and minimize hazards associated with falls while operating aerial lifts.  An employee was performing framing operations outside a commercial structure using a Genie S-60 XC  #SLWI-5962 aerial lift and exposed to fall hazards in approximately 30 feet not  utilizing fall protection.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
