29 CFR 1910.176(b): Storage of materials was creating a hazard and material stored in tiers was not stacked, blocked, interlocked or limited in height so that it was stable and secure against sliding and collapse: a) At Earl W. Colvard Inc. DBA Boulevard Tire Center, located at 160 Sunburst Rd., Dundee, FL, on the Mounted Wheel Side of the facility: On or about March 19, 2024, the employer exposed workers to struck-by and collapse hazards, in that tires were stacked on the top of a portable steel storage rack designed for barrel stacked storage in excess of the manufacturers recommended height. b) At Earl W. Colvard Inc. DBA Boulevard Tire Center, located at 160 Sunburst Rd., Dundee, FL, on the Mounted Wheel Side of the facility: On or about March 19, 2024, the employer exposed workers to struck-by and collapse hazards, in that tires stacked on top of a portable steel storage rack designed for barrel stacked storage were not secured or stabilized to prevent sliding or collapse. c) At Earl W. Colvard Inc. DBA Boulevard Tire Center, located at 160 Sunburst Rd., Dundee, FL, on the Mounted Wheel Side of the facility: On or about March 19, 2024, the employer exposed workers to struck-by and collapse hazards, in that tires stacked on a portable steel storage rack designed for barrel stacked storage were not placed in the bottom racks first creating an unstable, top heavy storage system. d) At Earl W. Colvard Inc. DBA Boulevard Tire Center, located at 160 Sunburst Rd., Dundee, FL, on the Mounted Wheel Side of the facility: On or about March 19, 2024, the employer exposed workers to struck-by and collapse hazards, in that heavy duty tire rims stacked on wooden pallets were not secured or stabilized to prevent sliding or collapse. e) On or about March 19, 2024, at 160 Sunburst Rd., Dundee, FL, on the Mounted Wheel Side of the facility: The employer exposed workers to struck-by and collapse hazards, in that damaged parts of a portable steel rack system were still in use.
