29 CFR 1910.132(a):Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: (a): Gelatin Melting System - Employees were not provided with proper protective equipment when exposed to potential burn hazards from hot steam when cleaning gelatin melting tanks. An employee sustained bodily burns when exposed to hot steam; disposable gown worn did not provide adequate protection, on or about March 28, 2024. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
