29 CFR 1910.23(b)(8): The employer did not ensure that ladders are used only for the purposes for which they were designed. a) Maintenance pit, 600 Valley Road, Hamburg, PA - On or about April 3, 2024, employees accessed a maintenance pit using a folded step ladder that was bolted to the wall. The employer did not ensure that the ladder was used for purposed which they were designed. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
