29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l) and as referenced by the note contained in 1926.602(d): a) Jobsite located at or near Pietro Way and Palermo Drive, Philadelphia, PA 19145- On or about April 4, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the powered industrial truck (PIT) operator operating PITs such as, but not limited to, the JLG telehandler successfully completed training and evaluation to ensure the operator has the knowledge and skills needed to operate the powered industrial trucks safely, thereby exposing employees to caught in-between and fall hazards. Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction, practical training, and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.
