29 CFR  1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  On or about: April 8, 9, and 10, 2024 Location: 62 Riverglen Dr., Thiells, NY 10984  a) CSHO observed five (5) workers over multiple days on the roof framing structure of the two-story building. Workers did not wear any components of fall protection on the first day. Fall arrest harnesses and lanyards were available in the work van. No anchor plates on site. Workers wore fall arrest harnesses on the second and third day but were not connected by lanyards. Anchor plates were also not on site or not enough for the workers on the roof. Workers were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 25 feet near the edge of the building to the ground or approximately 11-12 feet from the ridge of the roof to the 2nd floor of the building.  b) CSHO observed a floor opening underneath the stairs on the eastern side of the building leading to the 2nd floor. The floor opening exposed a fall hazard to the basement level of the building, a fall of approximately 10-11 feet. Workers exposed to fall hazard.
