29 CFR 1910.124(j)(3): Periodic inspections of all dipping and coating equipment, including covers, drains, overflow piping, and electrical and fire-extinguishing systems were not conducted, and deficiencies were not promptly corrected: a) Metco Industries, Inc., Tool room/production area, on or about May 9th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Employees were working with and around melted plastics during the dipping of parts into a Dip Seal Plastics brand (Model #DS40T) melting tank. The temperature control/thermostat for the melting tank was faulty in that it did not maintain the temperature displayed on the thermostat gauge. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.145(f)(3): Tags were not used as a means to prevent accidental injury or illness to employees who were exposed to hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions, equipment or operations: a) Metco Industries, Inc., Tool room/production area, on or about May 9th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Employees were working with and around melted plastics during the dipping of parts into a Dip Seal Plastics brand (Model #DS40T) melting tank. The dip tank was not taken out of service when the faulty temperature control/thermostat was detected.
