A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress shall be located in trench excavations that are 4 feet (1.22 m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62 m) of lateral travel for employees. a) 3821 South Cobb Drive Marietta GA. 30080. Trench: On or about June 17, 2024, this Compliance Officer (J6603) observed employees installing a 32 inch tap and saddle on the watermain. The employees were working at depth of 5ft 8inches deep, 8ft length and 11ft wide. without a ladder or other safe means of ingress or egress. The K.M. On about June 17, 2024, and times prior, the employer exposed employees to cave-in/entrapment hazards in that the employer failed to provide adequate cave in protection for employees working in a trench that measured 8ft long by 11ft wide by 5.4ft deep.
