29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure employees used eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents.  On or about November 8, 2024, an employee on a road crew was cutting concrete with a walk-behind concrete saw without eye or face protection.  Barber Brothers Contracting Company, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1528243, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 9, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at Hwy 42, PRAIRIEVILLE, LA 70769

29 CFR  1926.1153(c)(1):29 CFR 1926.1153(c)(1): For each employee engaged in a task identified on Table 1, the employer did not fully and properly implement the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection specified for the task on Table 1.   On or about November 8, 2024, at the highway construction job site, the employer did not ensure employees had engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection while an employee was cutting into concrete with a handheld power saw, exposing the employee to potentially respirable crystalline silica.
