29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition. a.) Hot End, Line B7 - On or about November 22, 2024, the employer failed to ensure that walking-working surfaces at the Emhart IS Bottle Machines were regularly inspected and maintained. Metal flooring at line B7 sagged and had 1 to 2-inch gaps between panels, thereby exposing employees to trip hazards. Gerresheimer Glass Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1725251, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 28, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 1131 Arnold Street, Chicago Heights, IL 60411.
