29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems. a. Elect General Contractors, INC. at a jobsite located at 2595 Brice Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068: On or about December 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were made by a competent person. Employees were working in a excavation at depths of over 5 feet without a compliant protective system in place to prevent collapse. Inspections were not performed by a competent person to determine compliant protective measures needed to work in the excavation with these conditions. The condition exposed employees to struck-by and caught-in hazards.

Elect General Contractors, INC. at a jobsite located at 2595 Brice Rd, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068: On or about December 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure a compliant means of cave in protection was being used to protect employees while working in a trench of over 5 feet deep.
