29 CFR 1926.651(c)(2): A stairway, ladder, ramp or other safe means of egress was not located in trench excavations that were 4 feet (1.22m) or more in depth so as to require no more than 25 feet (7.62m) of lateral travel for employees: Location: 105 Laidlaw Ave. Jersey City, NJ 07306. a: The employer failed to provide safe means of access to and from an 8 ft. deep excavation cut in Type B soil. Employees accessed the excavated area by either stepping on fissured rocky part of excavation or by using an A-frame ladder. Violation occurred on or about January 15, 2025.
