29 CFR  1910.106(f)(6):  Sources of ignition. Category 1 or 2 flammable liquids, or Category 3 flammable liquids with a flashpoint below 100 �F (37.8 �C), shall not be handled, drawn, or dispensed where flammable vapors may reach a source of ignition. Smoking shall be prohibited except in designated localities. "No Smoking" signs shall be conspicuously posted where hazard from flammable liquid vapors is normally present.  Green Shed (Outdoor): On or about January 29th, 2025, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that "No Smoking" signs were conspicuously posted on the green shed's exterior door, where flammable liquid(s) were stored. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to fire hazard(s).

29 CFR  1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket).  Laundry Folding Room:  On or about January 29th, 2025, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the Windsor Karcher Vacuum was inspected for visual defects in which the plug end of the manufacture(s) power cord to the Windsor Karcher Vacuum had damage to the outer cord jacket exposing the inner wire(s). This condition potentially exposed employees to electrical shock and/or fire hazards.

29 CFR  1910.23(c)(3): The employer did not ensure that ladders that are not loaded beyond the maximum intended load.   Maintenance Workroom: On or about January 29th, 2025, and at times prior thereto, employee(s) used an 8-foot A-frame step ladder to perform maintenance work on elevated heights. The 8-foot A-frame step ladder did not have any manufacture data listed for safety requirements nor load limits for employees to identify during inspection and use of ladder. Employees were exposed to the potential of ladder overloading, mechanical failure and/or fall hazard(s).  Navy Gateway Inns & Suites was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.23(c)(3), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1707423, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 04, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 2450 McHugh Street, San Diego, CA 92136.
