29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level: a- 158 Eisenhower Drive, Woolwich Township NJ: Two workers were not protected from falling when walking and working from the top of pitched roof truss chords, their interior webbing, and when walking/working from installed roof sheathing when using a single lanyard whose one end was connected to one worker and the other end was connected to the other worker. This single lanyard ran through the eye of a metal cable anchor that was set within the ridges of the roof trusses. Condition observed on or about 02/27/25. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii) a- 158 Eisenhower Drive, Woolwich Township NJ: Two workers were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 11 feet 1 inch & 24 feet 1 inch when they were walking and working from the top of pitched roof truss chords, their interior webbing, and when walking/working from installed roof sheathing when using a single lanyard whose one end was connected to one worker and the other end was cexposeonnected to the other worker. This single lanyard ran through the eye of a metal cable anchor that was set within the ridges of the roof trusses. These workers had not received fall protection training as specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii). Condition observed on or about 02/27/25. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.
