29 CFR 1910.243(c)(3): Abrasive wheels used on vertical portable grinder(s) (right angle head grinders) were not provided with safety guard(s) having a maximum exposure angle of 180 degrees and located between the operator and wheel:  Engine bay in the fire dozer area: On March 11, 2025 and at times prior thereto, the safety guard for a DeWalt angle grinder was not affixed to the grinder. This condition potentially exposed employees to struck-by hazards.

29 CFR 1910.212(b): Machine(s) designed for fixed location(s) were not securely anchored to prevent walking or moving:  Engine bay shop area: On March 11, 2025 and at times prior thereto, one 30-Ton Arcan Hydraulic Press, CP300, was not securely anchored to prevent walking or moving. This condition potentially exposed employees to crush hazards.   The Bureau of Land Management was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.212(b) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1501576, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on February 16, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 1695 Heindon Rd, Arcata, CA 95521.
