This condition exposed subcontractor employees to various hazards including, fall, ladder, and forklift hazards, and a lack of training.

29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1):Except as provided by paragraph (a)(3) of this section, each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level shall be protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems or fall restraint systems: (a)Capital Roofing, LLC at 310 Casey Tibbs Street, Fort Pierre, SD 57532: On or about and at times prior to March 13, 2025, the controlling employer did not ensure subcontractor employees were protected from fall hazards while replacing corrugated steel roof decking on a wooden pole-to-truss pole barn. This condition exposed employees to fall hazards greater than 15 feet.
