29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Jobsite, 197 Craigdell Road, New Kensington, PA 15068: Observed on or about April 14, 2025, employees engaged in roofing work on a commercial building with a sloped roof (6 in 12 vertical to horizontal) were not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems. The employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 18 feet to the concrete surface below.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a) Jobsite, 197 Craigdell Road, New Kensington, PA 15068: Observed on or about April 14, 2025, the employer did not ensure each employees engaged in roofing work on a commercial building with a sloped roof (6 in 12 vertical to horizontal) were trained in the recognition of fall hazards and the procedures to be used to minimize these hazards. The employees were observed working on the roof of the building while not protected from falling.
