29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Kern River Work Center, Welding Shop: On or about May 15, 2025, and at times prior thereto, the Delta drill press (s/n W9949) was not provided with safeguarding to protect against ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Employees were exposed to face and body injuries.

29 CFR 1910.253(b)(4)(i): Oxygen cylinders shall not be stored near highly combustible material, especially oil and grease; or near reserve stocks of carbide and acetylene or other fuel-gas cylinders, or near any other substance likely to cause or accelerate fire; or in an acetylene generator compartment: Kern River Work Center, Welding Shop: On or about May 15, 2025, and at times prior thereto, compressed gas oxygen cylinders were stored with an acetylene cylinders. Employees were exposed to burn injuries.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled equipment was not installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing and labeling. Kern River district, Carpenter Shop: Two power strips were not being used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling. One relocatable power strip and an extension cord were daisy-chained to power equipment. Another relocatable power strip was used to power a 12-inch DEWALT compound miter saw. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards. The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1628763, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/21/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 225 W 8th Street, Alturas, CA 96101. The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1605773, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 09/26/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 7600 Wentworth Springs Road, Georgetown, CA 95634tape. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards.
