29 CFR  1910.138(b):The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified:  (a)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 1, 2025, the employer did not ensure appropriate hand protection was in place while employees used the Butcher Boy SA20 saw located on the Loin Line within the Production Fabrication Area.  This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards associated with using inadequate personal protective equipment at the point of operation.

29 CFR  1910.212(a)(3)(ii):Point of operation guards were not designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of their body in the danger zone during the operating cycle:  (a)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure guarding was in place on the Edwards Manufacturing 65 - Ton Iron Worker located within the Maintenance Area.  This condition exposed employees to amputation hazards associated with the unguarded point of operation.

29 CFR 1910.219(h)(1): Projecting keys, setscrews, or other projections in revolving parts were not removed, made flush, or guarded by metal covers:  (a)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure spinning drive mechanisms with unguarded keyways slots on two conveyor equipment drive shafts and motors were effectively guarded in the Rib Line Area.  This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded keyway slots on the drive mechanisms.  (b)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure spinning drive mechanisms with a projecting keyway key on the conveyor equipment drive shaft and motor was effectively guarded in the Rib Line Area.  This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded keyway key on the drive mechanism.  (c)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure spinning drive mechanisms with an unguarded keyway slot on a conveyor equipment drive shaft and motor were effectively guarded in the Kidney Fat Belt Area.  This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded keyway slot on the drive mechanism.  (d)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure spinning drive mechanisms with an unguarded keyway slot on a conveyor equipment drive shaft and motor were effectively guarded in the Loin Area.  This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded keyway slot on the drive mechanism.  (e)New Angus, LLC dba Demkota Ranch Beef at 13 135th Street Southwest, Aberdeen, SD 57401:  On or about and at times prior to July 3, 2025, the employer did not ensure spinning drive mechanisms with projecting setscrew heads on two conveyor equipment drive shafts and motors were effectively guarded in the Cryovac Area.  This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards associated with the unguarded setscrews on the drive mechanisms.
