29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  The employer does not protect each employee from fall hazards while engaged in framing work approximately 13 feet above the ground by the use of guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system.  a) This most recently occurred on August 22, 2025, at 2960 Dundee Rd., Northbrook, IL 60062. Employees engaged in framing work are not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of approximately 13 feet above the ground.   In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets:  a) On or about August 22, 2025, located at 2960 Dundee Rd., Northbrook, IL, the employer did not ensure employees wore protective helmets when working under tools and loose materials exposing the employees to struck-by hazards.  KW Framing, Inc. was previously cited for a serious violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.100(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1724207, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 16, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 3111-3119 North 80th St, River Grove, IL 60171.  No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:  The employer does not protect each employee from eye injury while engaging in carpentry work by requiring the employees to wear eye and face protection while operating pneumatic framing nail guns and cordless saws.  The following instances most recently occurred:  a)  On August 22, 2025, at 2960 Dundee Rd., Northbrook, IL 60062. Employees engaged in carpentry activities are exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail guns and cordless saws without eye protection.  b) On August 27, 2025, at 2960 Dundee Rd., Northbrook, IL 60062. An employee engaged in carpentry activities is exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail guns without eye protection.  KW Framing, Inc. was previously cited for a Repeat violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1724207, citation number 3, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 16, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 3111-3119 North 80th St., River Grove, IL 60171.  KW Framing, Inc. was previously cited for a Serious violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard  1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1629045, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 3, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 11 W Prospect Ave., Mount Prospect, IL 60056.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
