The employer failed to ensure that liquified petroleum gas cylinders were located as to minimize physical damage in that cylinders utilized as a fuel source for the oven system were located in the open where it could be damaged by forklift traffic.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(ii): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical:  At the workplace located at 201 North Allen Ave. Chanute, Kansas, employees engaged in rubber hose manufacturing activities throughout department 40 of the facility were exposed to chemical hazards when using unlabeled chemical containers. Unlabeled secondary 5-gallon bucket containers filled with Toluol and other Tolulol mixtures were found on work tables and throughout the floor at the southeast corner of department 40 facility. Exposure to this chemical could result in: skin and eye irritation, drowsiness and/or dizziness, may cause genetic defects and may cause damage to organs through repeated exposure. Additionally, Toluol can act as a fueling agent due to its high flammability as a liquid and/or vapor.
