Final narrative
An employee sustained second degree burns on the left side of their face, neck, arm, hand and both legs from hot oil. The employee was cleaning a slurry screen for a pump and opened the flange to check for product flow. A coke plug was present and let loose during the pulling of the screen which allowed hot oil to release and spray the employee.
