Final narrative
An employee was helping to move jersey barriers from a corner to clean up for a storm water inspection. A coworker was lifting the barrier with a skid steer that had forklift forks installed. One corner of the barrier was elevated on the forks approximately 10 inches high when the employee went over the barrier to move a tool that was in the way of where they were moving the barrier. When he was on the other side of the barrier, the concrete corner that was elevated broke off of the barrier. The barrier then fell sideways onto the employee, pinning him between the fallen barrier and the street curb and breaking his left leg.
