Employees were conducting renovations to a boiler system in the basement of a school. Two employees were carrying out a 10-foot pipe when the injured employee lost his footing on a ramp. As he went to catch himself, the pipe landed on his right ring finger, resulting in a crush injury that required medical amputation of the top of the finger.
