An employee was changing out a carrier wire rod on the takeoff arm at the fine wire galvanizing line. The takeoff arm began to swing toward the employee and they went to stop it, when their right index finger was caught between the swing and takeoff arm in a 2 metal tubing bracket, resulting in amputation to the first knuckle.
