Helping resident with a transfer

What happened

I was helping a resident from the commode back to the bed and they were having troubles following instructions. The resident climbed up on bed on all fours instead of sitting like I was instructing them to do and trying to help them to do. The resident got up on their knees and fell back and sideways toward me. There was a wall behind me and nowhere for me to go so I caught them instead of just letting them fall on top of me and eased them to the ground. They fell on my right shoulder and arm and hurt it.
