Engineering technician was working with engineer to perform a failure analysis on a filter submerged in 60 40 IPA DIW mixture within a test fixture. During failure analysis the filter is subjected to compressed air to expose integrity leaks in the filter construction. An end cap that contains the compressed air within the filter became loose and the release of compressed air caused a splash of 60 40 which raised the lid on the test fixture. The technician received an amount of 60 40 in the eye despite having safety glasses.
