An operator injured his left hand while working on machine [REDACTED] at location [REDACTED]. The incident occurred on [REDACTED] around [REDACTED]. The cause was related to aligning hot pins to start the machine: the operator was adjusting the pins and used his right hand to lower the pins base via the air valve. When he released the air valve his left hand was gripping the pins base and became caught between the pins base and the pins sensor resulting in injury. The machine was subsequently locked out and tagged out and de-energized. A residual air pressure was found on the lever that holds the hot pins.
